Terror Attacks May Boost Online Sales

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

Today, Terrorism is a global issue. Terror strikes are not restricted to a single community or religion but encompass the entire world. For Instance, the recent multiple shootings in NewYork at the immigration centre in Binghamton and the last year terrorist attacks in Mumbai --the financial capital of India, that targeted both Indians and foreigners. Such attacks have furthermore raised the security levels across every major country. The risk factor is so high, that the even places of leisure activities such as shopping malls, hotels, stores are on high security alerts. Overall, it has left the common man with feelings of uncertainty, distrust, sadness and loss; greatly affecting the economic scenario as well.

With the rise in such terrorist attacks and the elevated level of threat across the world; Industry professionals are speculating that, such terrorist attacks may give a boost to online sales. Though apparently a paradox, it appears to be a valid deduction based on the current situation. Let us explore this thought further.

Fear Vs Buying behaviour

Studies have specifically investigated how that, in the past, fear for personal safety has impacted consumer behavior. It was found that there is a higher tendency to consume more food and lifestyle products when subjects were confronting with fear of loss or depression. In such a situation, people go out and do what makes them feel good, which is - buy and consume more.

For Instance, in the wake of the 9/11 terrorists attacks, various media reports documented the fact that, Americans were doing all of the things they had always wanted to do, that included, a whole lot of shopping! Studies conducted showed that people purchased more expensive items such as - Rolex watches, automobiles, high-end-clothing, and other utility items, like never before. Although, once the fear subsided, everything returned to normal.

Post the twin bombings in London, the retail shoppers numbers fell sharply. People were unsure of their safety, so choose to stay away from the stores. Ebay, then was considered to be a safer alternative when the country was on a high-security alert.

Shoppers are normally deterred by threat of further disruption or perceived risk associated with in-store shopping. Therefore, Internet shopping seems like a safe medium to purchase products for personal use. Ideally, retailers should have both an online presence and a storefront. Stores with a physical presence that are known to the shoppers are more likely to be considered as safe for shopping online.

Online Vs Inshop

Shopping in the age of terrorism has dramatically evolved. It has made the world a much unsafe place for the rest of us. With the threat of economic recession coupled with shock of the terror attacks, people weigh the risks associated with in-store shopping compared to online shopping.

Forrester reports (Based on 3000 potential US online shoppers, collected on September-October 2008) on shoppers intention to purchase online:

- 48% of consumers surveyed (compared with 41% in 2007) said they can find the best values and deals online.
- 36% of consumers (compared with 22% last year) said they would be more likely to shop online due to high gas prices
- 3 in 4 online shoppers said they prefer to buy from online retailers that offer free shipping, and nearly 6 in 10 said shipping prices deter them from buying online.
(Forrester data)

Forrester report further states that 88% of U.S. online consumers say that they have bought something online in the past. They tend to shop more and more online, whenever possible, than in a physical store.

However, with trimmed shopping budgets and current economic crisis, consumers are hoping to find comparison shopping, free shipping, and better discount deals online, so that they can optimise on their time, effort and money.

Long Term Trends - Good News for Online Retailers and Consumers!

There are indications of large business opportunities in terms of online shopping. After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the attacks in the U.S., UK, India and other countries around the world, there has been a shift in consumer trends. Customers prefer to scour for major brands online on popular shopping sites such as eBay, Amazon etc.

Forrester report has some good news for those planning to invest online.

Online sales will account for 7% of U.S. retail sales this year, up from 6% last year. From 2004 to 2010, Online sales are expected to grow 10 percent and 20 percent compound annual growth rate, over the next six years.

Inarguably, online and offline channels present different shopping experiences even when the same products are being purchased. Having said that, consumers do prefer to interact in a virtual environment due to its capabilities to provide Interactivity, personalised experiences, shopping tools, increased product selection and information. Hence, online retailers can boost their sales by ensuring quality deliverables, round-the-clock support system, discounts & special offers, free shipping, and secure transactions. Basically, generating an overall positive customer experience, thereby establishing brand loyalty.

Most importantly, the companies need distinctive online marketing campaigns. Companies that survived the last recession, did so with the help of strong marketing campaigns, reaching out to their customers effectively. Retailers need to work hard to ensure their customers feel secure and happy while shopping with them online and sales will increase automatically.

What You Need

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

My name is Areezul, founder of Washy Direct and member of a society that couches people to make a great living from home. It has been some time now since this way of life started for me. Nowadays more and more people seem to be turning to the internet for a chance of escape from the nightmare or their 9-5 jobs. I have helped people from all types of back grounds and they go on to great success. I still consider my self just a normal guy who has stuck at it and made it work. I don’t think of myself as some kind of guru. I have simply stock to a few basic principles. Lets face it, the simply ideas are usually the best.

What You need

In the current economic climate people need all the help they can get and I come across many people who simply jump in before they are properly prepared. This is the worst thing they can do.

The problem is that when they do this, they give themselves a low chance of actual success. When they fail, they then assume that all internet work at home ideas are a scam and don’t work. I have no doubt that there are many get rich quick ideas out there that are complete rubbish. However there are many worth while plans to follow that will make you successful.

Before you can be successful, you must learn your trade. This is the same no matter what business venture you take on. I have emails on a daily basis from people in all kinds of situations. Some are willing to what ever it takes to succeed. Some want to spend no money and click a couple of buttons a day to make them a millionaire. It should be obvious which of the two are going to actually make it and which of the two will become the cynical, nothings works kind.

The basic facts are that to make a great living on line you need to put effort it. Some of the methods used are however very simple compared with the traditional ways of making money.

You need to find yourself someone or something that you can believe in and actually given it or them the time deserved. How else can you judge what they do?

Most people will not make a thing online, however there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a year. The reason for this is simple and comes down to the preparation they put in.

Having Belief

Also important is your belief for the product/s you are selling or the service you are providing. No matter what you are trying to sell online you must believe in it. In most sales based businesses people get to talk to a salesman. This is either, face to face or by phone. When they buy they are actually buying the person. That person has made them want the product. With the internet there is usually no person to person contact and therefore your belief for the product or service is harder to get across. You need to put ten times the amount of effort in to your product/service offer than a normal salesman.

I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore this because they can sell anything. But this is not the case for those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully. When everything is new and you are worried about making costly mistakes and failure, you need to really take care with each product or service. When you are making great amounts of money you can take a few risks and try other methods. In the beginning stick to proven techniques and take on board what you are shown.

I'm not trying to make you believe that this is the only thing necessary. To be successful you must also have many other elements in place and working well. Such as good website, good marketing, and so on. Those things are often learned from the company you join or person mentoring you. However side step the basics and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.

It therefore is the case that, if you have no belief for the service provided the mentor or company, helping you, again, you won't attempt to do the work you are being taught. No doing what you are being taught will lead to your failure and your belief that the system doesn’t work. The truth is that it is down to you. You are the reason it hasn’t worked. Follow exactly what you are shown, step by step and the sky is the limit.

You have a great resource in the Internet for business opportunities. You can also follow a recommendation. Contact someone such as myself who has actually been through and made it work.

You should join a mentor that you like and have confidence in. they should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services.

Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I'll start that business - does not sound like a decision based on anything near real belief. You need to be excited and passionate about this and prospect of making a great life for yourself.

There are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don't first find the right mentor & products/services to believe in, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.

Not have belief is a pitfall you simply must avoid. I have found the perfect society to be part of and it has helped me no end. I have made mistakes in the past and would ask that you learn from mine.

If Your Customers Twitter, Should You?

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

If Twitter is a new place for your customers to reside, should you do 'Twitter Marketing'?

Twitter is a fairly new online social community application, used by over millions of users worldwide (and growing). It's also known as "micro-blogging", sharing what concerns you in 140 characters or less.

With so many people firing away on what makes them happy or sad, your customers maybe tweeting (= posting on Twitter) about you, your company, or brand. Are they saying good things or bad things, are they happy with your products? or confused? or disgruntled?

Getting curious already?

You should be. If your customers are out there talking, and you can listen to them... never miss that opportunity! In fact, you should try to talk to your customers as often as possible, as they can tell you what you do right, and what you do wrong.

Twitter is just an ongoing worldwide conversation, and you have the opportunity to listen in on what they say (if you cannot restrain yourself, then do a search on Twitter right now: search.twitter.com. Don't forget to come back here!).

If they're saying really great things about your product or business, it's great for morale. And if they're saying bad things... well, there's even better things you can do with that:

1. Learn from what customers don't like. Change it. Make happy customers. Get more customers.

2. Make right what went wrong. It's my experience that when you apply a helpful attitude, it often turns a disgruntled customer into a loyal fan.

3. Set the records straight. Sometimes, people don't play very nice. A competitor may spread some bad rumors in an attempt to hurt your brand. Some customer go all out on a minor nuisance, and try to paint you black... if you know they are spreading mis-information, you have the opportunity to share your side of the story.

But it's hard to get to the point in less than 140 characters.

But if your customers are twittering, you should keep an open eye on yet another channel where you can be talked about. Even more a reason why you should make and keep happy customers by providing great customer service!

Twitter should most definitely be on your list of channels to check out on a regular basis.

Using Twitter as a help desk channel is a whole different ballgame. As a matter of fact, it's a challenge to handle lots of different channels your customers can use... if you have a physical store, they can come to see you. Or they can call you. Or Skype you. Or send an e-mail. Or use a form on your web site to start a help desk ticket. Maybe they can even have a live chat. And now Twitter.

How do you keep track of it all? That's a real challenge!

It can actually be too much to handle. Especially if you're just a small operation. Even with just a few channels to handle (phone & Internet) I could notice that either one or the other would be given precedence. Not good. On each end of each channel is a customer, and often you can't determine which one to give priority.

But I can't tell you to focus on just a few channels, and do those very well. Because it would ignore an important truth:

In this day and age, a customer is a multi-channel customer. They expect us to make it easy for them to contact us. And so we should. But Twitter, with its 140 character limitation, doesn't lend itself well to get to the bottom of serious customer service issues.

Simple questions, that can be answered by sending folks to a page on your site: Twitter's great for that. Serious issues that arise? Try to get the customer into an e-mail conversation (managed by a help desk application or not) as soon as possible.

But don't ignore Twitter. People are talking, you know...

And you'd better listen!

T Shirts are Forever

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

T Shirts are a popular form of clothing these days. There are many stories that explore the origin of T Shirts. Some accounts claim that US Army Soldiers first wore T Shirts as part of their uniform during World War I, when inspired by European soldiers wearing comfortable cotton innerwear. Others claim that the US Navy first wore T Shirts when they were out at sea. Internet Marketing Requires Strategy

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

Penang, Malaysia Nutmeg is available for you. Those interested kindly contact me at hzulkarnai@gmail.com

The Internet is a place where people often keep putting money into the slot machine and hope they will hit the jackpot. Most people make the mistake and think that huge amount of traffic can bring good business without paying any attention to what sort of people are coming to the website. This is the worst mistake of Internet Marketing.

No matter how revolutionary your product or service is, unless it is backed by a well-thought out Internet marketing strategy, it is as good as being non-existent. Getting the right traffic to your website is the biggest challenge you’ll face while trying to set up an online business. When you set up your online business, you don't know them and they don't know you. You need to make your presence felt; you need to set up an identity for yourself that tells your visitors that you are not a fly by night just seeing if this really does work. Your website should represent a genuine business that can really deliver. How can you do that?

WEBSITE

A good website is essential to your online presence. It is your online office; people come there and draw an impression. Even the first glance can make or break a great business transaction. Your website should be neat and clean. It should be accessible to people of all abilities and it should have a well-structured navigation system.

CONTENT

If having a decent website is important, then so is having the right kind of content on your pages. As mentioned above, your website represents you. Since you are not there to directly talk to your visitors, your website must accomplish that task. Make your content as convincing as you can. Make sure your visitors get all the right information they need to take their visit to the next level.

BRANDING

Establishing an identity takes time, and this is not just unique to the Internet. Companies invest millions of dollars on establishing their brands. On the Internet, you need to establish your identity, you need your name to sound familiar, and you need to be there almost all the time. Finally, although there are numerous methods being sold as they claim to make you rich, there is no substitute for a thing called good old hard work. As in any form of business, hard work is needed to build trust, to initiate a two-way communication, to render a countenance to your online presence your customers can relate to, and to deliver goods and services that set you on a path of long-term profitability.

Introduction to Autoresponders

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

If you've reached the point of exhaustion trying to keep up with answering the mountain of emails that threatens to bury you alive every single day, you're ready to learn about autoresponders.

The bad news is that people expect prompt replies to their email inquiries. However, unless you can figure out how to work continual twenty-four hour shifts, or hire enough people to constantly monitor incoming emails (while they're eating up your revenue), you have a problem. The good news is an autoresponder is an inexpensive - or even free - method of quickly responding to emails. What these programs do is automatically respond to incoming emails as soon as they are received.

Emails are essential to your business for many different reasons. Most importantly, these invisible email voices give you their feedback about your website - for free! However, if you spend all your working hours answering these emails, how are you supposed to run your business? The answer is simple: use autoresponders. Autoresponders are programs that automatically respond to your emails without you so much as having to click on your mouse.

There are a number of good reasons why you need an autoresponder besides just answering your email. For example, autoresponders can be used if you need a way to send information about your services or products, price lists, or if there are repeated questions asked across large numbers of emails. Maybe you want to offer your site visitors a special bonus of some kind, such as advice or relevant articles. All of this can be handled by an autoresponder. Additionally, you can advertise your business and then build stable relationships with your customers by using autoresponders.

Autoresponder programs vary from software that runs with your email program to a specialized script that runs on your web hosting company's server. This kind of script may use a web page form or simply operate with your email account. This kind of script is programmed to send out a standardized message whenever an email is received. The message is sent to a particular script or email address.

Some autoresponders can do more than simply send out standardized messages. They can send out an unlimited number of follow-up messages sent at predetermined interval of time. For example, you can set your autoresponder to send out a new message every day for as long a period as you desire.

There are numerous companies who offer autoresponders free of charge. Your website hosting company often provides autoresponders as a free service. If this is not the case with your web hosting company, there are numerous companies who offer this service for a small fee, or free of charge, providing you attach an advertisement for their company to your emails.

To personalize your autoresponder messages, you can attach a signature. Signatures in this case are much like business cards. You can include your name, company, all your contact numbers and addresses, and a brief message.

It's a good idea to attach a signature to every email that is sent out. This works as a repeated reminder of your business identity every time a customer sees it. The more they look at your signature, the more likely your company will spring to mind when your particular service or product is needed.

You can create a standardized signature that every employee in your business uses, or you can go wild, and let every staff member create their own personal signature. Of course, like everything in life, there are some rules and guidelines to creating a personal signature.

Keep the length of your signature between four to six lines of text, with no more than 70 characters in a single line. Make sure that your email program does not cut off your text! The content should include your name, your company name, your email address, fax number, and any other contact details, such as 800 numbers. Lastly, always include a short personal message about your company. It should be a subtle sell of your services or your products, and possibly your company's reliability and longevity.

Another specialized use of autoresponders is to create courses that you can then offer your site visitors for free. You must choose a topic in which you are an expert and that precisely targets your potential customers.

Once you have carefully chosen your subject, divide it into a number of different sub-topics. Then offer your site visitor a free 10 or 15 day course, each day offering a different sub-topic. The first topic should always be a welcome message to your site visitor and an explanation about what is to follow. Your explanation should be enticing, getting the point across that you are offering free, quality information that your target audience will find of great value.

With every lesson, include the number of the lesson, the topic title, information about your company and its services or products. At the end, include a few blurbs about the next lesson to entice the subscriber to continue on.

Make sure each topic is packed with essential and valuable information, and leaves the visitor lusting to know more. Otherwise, you may lose them in the very beginning.

Of course, you have to write up your course before you can offer it. Once you have done this, and gone over the material carefully, employing a professional writer or editor if necessary, you must transfer your text to your autoresponder.

There are a number of free autoresponders you can use. Try http:/www.getresponse.com, or http://www.fastfacts.net. Or go onto Google and you will find a long list of free autoresponder companies. Then sign-up for your chosen autoresponder. Once you do, you will receive instructions as to how to set it up and transfer your text.

Email is an excellent marketing tool; it is inexpensive and it is fast. Use it to advertise your business by choosing your email address carefully. Your website should contain different email addresses for different contact requests. For example, use info@yourdomain.com for information requests, or sales@yourdomain.com for questions about sales. It's a good idea to set up one for the owner, such as president@yourdomain.com. This presents your company in a personal, approachable light and insures that direct contact is provided.

Autoresponders are an effective and powerful marketing tool, allowing you to make contact with thousands of potential customers. This is an invaluable asset considering how many potential customers you usually have contact with before you make an actual sale. Essentially, an autoresponser allows you to automate part of your marketing campaign.

How to Effectively Use Social Media for Business

Posted by Aree Tone WoW |

The use of social networking sites to connect people has become so widespread today. But other than those who just want to communicate with friends, old and new, social media is also currently being taken advantage by business oriented people as a way to reach their target clients and improve their businesses.

People involved in small business have found a powerful marketing tool in these social networking sites.

Among the top social media used by business people today are Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. By using these sites, you are able to expose your business to more people, at both a local and international level.

Facebook

Facebook has become highly popular in recent years attracting millions of users from across the globe. This popularity has, in fact, led the site’s management to offer marketing platforms that encourage people to share their business endeavors and build communities as well.

To use Facebook to your advantage, make sure to create an interesting personal profile page. Include photos and business information that will attract visitors and encourage them to read through your profile.

Update your information regularly so that existing and potential clients know what you’re up to. Discuss recent happenings regarding your business and interact with readers who post comments on your page.

Be friendly at all times and don’t forget to create a “fans” page and invite clients to join.

Twitter

In just a few years, Twitter has attracted a steady following that is increasing rapidly as the “buzz” around Twitter spreads. This is the power of social networking sites – they are viral.

One advantage of Twitter over the others is that it lifts the lid on the activities and conversations of other people. What we are seeing today is news being reported on Twitter before the media even has a chance to tell us.

For business people who want to maximize the vast communication potential of this social networking site, it is best to be consistent when tweeting (telling people what you are doing).

This means not only providing information to your followers about what you are up to with your business, but also adding value. You need to share tools, tips and strategies and make your updates interesting and engaging.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an ideal site for entrepreneurs because it gives you the opportunity to grow your business using less of your own money. How? LinkedIn is used by many professionals to search for potential employees and also as a means to expand their business contacts.

Providing a detailed profile (business information and photos) is the best way to expand your network of contacts through LinkedIn.
You can include a link to your website or blog for those people looking to access more information about you and your business.

Interaction is key and you can do this by answering questions that provide valuable and interesting information.

YouTube

YouTube is a phenomenal success in terms of video sharing on the internet. This social networking site has become the Number 2 search engine, behind Google.

If you have not tried live video streaming as a marketing tool for your business yet, it is time to jump in front of the camera. Videos are very powerful tools in drawing online traffic.

Create a short but clear video featuring yourself talking about your business and how you started out. Tell them about your journey, provide them with success stories and share your passion about your business.

Create several short videos (perhaps video seminars you conduct, presentations you make, or other business projects) and upload them on YouTube. Make sure that you post your videos in the category relevant to your business to draw the right target audience.

In using social media to market and improve your business, building trust with your audience is essential. You can only do this by being honest and providing consistently interesting, useful and valuable information. What matters most is that you share your experiences and knowledge. Doing so can influence people’s lives and encourage them to take action.
